FIU sets up two courses on the use of drones by public safety professionals
Florida International University's Academy for International Disaster Preparedness announced the creation of two new certificate courses to give public safety professionals a comprehensive understanding of the use of unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) - aka drones - in emergency operations.
The UAS/Drone Operator Public Safety course consists in a 2-day course on 29-30 January and includes a basic insight of the use of drones by public safety professionals and the main legal and operational challenges.
The UAS/Drone Operational Management for Disaster Response course consists in a 5-day course on 12-16 February and focuses on the lessons learnt from the use of UAS in recent disasters and includes live demonstrations based on different scenarios.
