Pan-European awards for emergency location project & social media by EENA members

We are happy to start the week with some exciting news: EENA was rewarded on Friday with two pan-European awards during the European Association Awards 2018.

The work of the EENA community was rewarded as best in class in an event that aims to inspire others by rewarding the best work of associations.

So what were the awards about?

Best association partnership
EENA won the silver award for “Best partnership” for our collaboration with Google on improving emergency location. Android Emergency Location Service (Google’s version of Advanced Mobile Location) has already transformed emergency response and contributed to saving lives around the world.
Best use of social media
EENA won the gold award for social media. What does #makeEUsafe stand for? It stands for Europeans receiving the best care possible when in danger. In October, the EENA community went on social media to ask for 112 in the European Union to be a priority.

The organisers of the event noted that “This represents the elite of European Associations who are striving ahead and setting standards for and on behalf of their members. These awards are for those making a real impact.”

We are thankful for this recognition and proud of the work that lies behind it. But these achievements represent the entire EENA community; a community that aspires to drive change and contribute to the safety of everyone with passion and dedication.

Thank you for this and congratulations to all the EENA community!
