Presented on: 23 June, 10:00 CEST

As firefighters in most European countries are now getting prepared for another busy and active season, we invite all stakeholders involved to join us and the Country Fire Authority of the State of Victoria to discover lessons learnt from fighting the wildfires in Australia at the beginning of the year.

The European Commission’s Directorate-General for European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations will also present an update of the recent developments regarding the European Civil Protection Pool. This pool is a collection of emergency response teams and assets which can be made available to a country facing a severe crisis, such as large-scale forest fires.

Join this webinar to learn about:

  • What happened exactly during the wildfires and why there were so impactful
  • How Australian firefighters succeeded in managing the challenge
  • How international help was coordinated
  • Lessons learnt: what went right and what did wrong
