Prepare your PSAP for NG eCall with Cestel’s NextGen eCall decoder and NextGen IVS eCall Simulator

Cestel is playing a key role in advancing the Next Generation eCall (NG eCall) systems, which marks a major evolution from the traditional eCall approach. NG eCall uses IP-based networks to enhance emergency call functionality, enabling the transmission of detailed information such as vehicle location, crash severity, and passenger numbers directly to Public Safety Answering Points (PSAPs). This modern system supports multimedia communication—voice, video, and text—through IP networks, improving response times and coordination between emergency services.

During its participation in the last ETSI interoperability Plugtest in Málaga, October 2024, Cestel’s NG eCall Decoder Server has been tested with some NGen IVS eCall prototype devices. This product ensures seamless integration with NG 112 technologies, enabling faster response times, more accurate data sharing, and ultimately, better protection for road users in emergency situations.

Together with their NG eCall Decoder Server, Cestel announces their NG IVS eCall Simulator. With this new solution, PSAPs can now prepare themselves for the upcoming European regulations[1]. This tool allows emergency centres to simulate the complete eCall process—from the Minimum Set of Data (MSD) transmission to establishing real-time voice communication with emergency services. It offers flexibility to test different scenarios and ensures system readiness for modern IP networks like the IMS (IP Multimedia Subsystem), which will support the growing adoption of NG eCall.

Cestel’s NGen IVS eCall Simulator is designed to be intuitive and customisable, providing PSAPs with a comprehensive solution to test both manual and automatic calls, verify system interoperability, and ensure smooth integration with the new NG eCall standards[2].
