Meet the team

Gary joined EENA in October 2006. He is responsible for the strategic development of the association. Over the years, he led the creation of several successful EENA membership platforms, committees and events. He is in charge of government affairs and he managed a number of advocacy campaigns in Brussels. Gary holds a MA in European Affairs from the Political Science Institute of Strasbourg and a BA in Economics from the University of Orléans and the Abertay University in Dundee. A Europe-trotter, he studied or worked in Belgium, France, Ireland, Spain, Poland and the UK. He is a French national, also fluent in English (spiced up with some little basics of Spanish and Polish). 

Executive Director


Jérôme joined EENA in February 2009. As Managing Director, he is responsible for the smooth running of EENA activities. He also leads the development of EENA networks (Corporate members; Public Safety Officials; Researchers; Mobile Network Operators) and supervises all services provided to EENA members. Jérôme is member of the EENA Board of Directors as Treasurer. He is a French national, also fluent in English (the absence of a French accent is not guaranteed). He holds a Master in European Law and Political Sciences as well as a Master in Management of Organisations, both from Jean Moulin Lyon 3 University.


Jérôme PARIS
Managing Director


Cristina joined EENA in October 2010. She coordinates all of the technical and emergency services' operations activities of the association. She also represents EENA in the international standardisation development organisations. Prior to joining EENA, Cristina served as IT manager of Madrid’s 112 centre in which she designed the IT components. She was a member of the Spanish delegation in the European Commission's working groups on 112 and eCall. Cristina holds a MA in Computer Science and an MA in Marketing, both from the Autonomous University of Madrid. As a Spanish national she is naturally very fond of Spanish food, but she has adapted very well to Belgian mussels, chocolate and waffles. She is fluent in English and French, conversant in German.

Technical Director


Taviana joined EENA in October 2014. She is in charge of the coordination of all EENA events and works closely with Petros to widely promote them through a variety of communication tools and channels. Prior to joining EENA, Taviana held the same position during 3 years for another noble European association where she was responsible for planning and coordinating the operations of events such as educational conferences hosting up to 4,000 participants. Taviana is a Belgian national with French as a mother tongue. She is fluent in English and Italian, but also conversant in Spanish and Dutch. She graduated from Public Relations and Communication from the UCL (Catholic University of Louvain) and completed an MA in Management of Organisations from the Louvain School of Management, Belgium. Her Sicilian origins makes her a solar young woman and a strong tiffosa of the Italy national football team during international competitions.

Events Coordinator


Petros joined EENA in 2014 as an intern and he is now EENA's Communications & Press Officer. He is responsible for internal and external, online & offline communications from A to Z: strategy planning, execution and evaluation. He is also responsible for EENA’s press activities, maintaining the organisation’s relationship with press contacts and working with journalists on items relevant to EENA’s work. Petros oversees the management of digital media, online tools and platforms, drafting and production of publications, reports and newsletters. He comes from the sunny island of Corfu, Greece. He speaks English and Spanish while, often, he pretends to be able to speak in Spanish. He has a Bachelor in International and European Studies from the University of Macedonia in Greece and a Master’s degree in European Studies: Transnational & Global Perspectives on History, Diversity and Culture from KU Leuven, Belgium.

Communications & Press Officer


Benoît joined the team in September 2015 and is in charge of advocacy. He will help the team in liaising with the institutions of the European Union and different stakeholders, and work on increasing the awareness of the European emergency number 112 in Europe. Benoît has just graduated in European Affairs from the College of Europe in Bruges; before that, he studied in Sciences Po Lille. He also spent one year abroad in Gothenburg (Sweden) as an erasmus student. Benoît has the French/Belgian dual citizenship and speaks French, English, Spanish and Swedish.

Advocacy Officer


Ana is an expert in the design and organisation of international events including multicultural conferences, workshops, congresses and study tours all over the world. Her fortés also lie in the layout and editing of newsletters and corporate magazines. With a plethora of experience in some of the most recognised mass media organisations as a journalist, Ana possesses a vibrance, vitality and skills which are second to none in the tech-changing world of comms. An avid connoisseuse of EU procurement and overall project management, she is most at ease with projects entailing the technicalities circa EU admin procedures, calls for proposals, tender drafts, the management of applicants and the drafting of wide-scale methodologies and strategies. Ana comes from sunny Spain and is also fluent in English and French.


Office & Events Officer


Marta joined EENA in January 2018 as an Events Intern. She is working closely with Taviana and contributing to oversee all aspects of event planning and management. Marta holds an MA in Communications Sciences, specialised in Media and Journalism, from Universidade Católica Portuguesa de Lisboa with a semester abroad in Rome, and a BA in Cultural and Social Communication with a semester held in the Université Catholique de Lille, France. Born in a small Portuguese island in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, Marta it’s not a nomad but a citizen of the world. She studied and/or worked in Portugal, France, Vietnam, Italy, Malta, and she is now based in Brussels. She is Portuguese and also speaks English, French, Italian and occasionally improvises in Portuñol. Vegetarian, free spirit and wanderlust, Marta is always ready for a new adventure.

Events Intern


Alfonso is an entrepreneur passionate about how to combine technology and public safety to solve global issues. He started working with EENA in different drone projects since 2015. He also contributed to the launch of the EENA Crisis Tech Startup Program, aiming to bring startups closer to first responders. Now, he is the Drones Activities Manager, leading & coordinating all drone-related projects within the EENA framework. Alfonso is also the CEO & Co-founder of Unblur, a startup helping incident commanders in the field cope with real-time data in the field.

Alfonso Zamarro

Alexis is working as Project Manager at EENA since he joined the team in 2015. He is responsible for planning and coordinating EENA’s participation in different projects. Alexis is involved in projects about social media for emergency management, emergency caller location, eCall and lately piloting new technologies in PSAPs. In the past, Alexis has worked in the ICT sector, since 1999 and has been involved in management, R&D and consulting activities. He is a Greek national, and he holds a Master of Engineering (MEng) from the University of Aberdeen, in Scotland. He has lived and worked in the United Kingdom and speaks fluent English.

Project Manager


Manu officially joined EENA in April 2010 but was involved in the early days of the association, giving a hand to Olivier since 2002. He advises Gary on developing the association and works with him on HR matters. Working part-time for EENA, he is mostly busy with a company he co-founded in the Events and Brand Activation sector. Manu also provides expertise to the rest of the team events and European projects, and he sits in the EENA Board of Administrators. He spent a year in USA and holds an MA in Public Relations from IHECS in Brussels. Passionate about people, music & RSC Anderlecht, he has French as a mother tongue but also speaks and sings fluently in English and Dutch.
