EENA is happy to announce the publication of 'Advanced Mobile Location (AML) – Specifications & Requirements' document.
With 10 European countries testing or about to start testing AML, this much-awaited document lays down the specifications and requirements for its implementation.
AML is a caller location technique launched in the UK as a solution to problematic caller location in an emergency. Using GNSS and Wi-Fi data from a mobile phone, AML enables the emergency services to locate directly the caller in distress, most often with an accuracy level within 50 meters. An SMS is sent automatically, instantly and free of charge from the mobile phone to the emergency response centre, containing all the necessary location information.
A publication not to be missed by any emergency communications professional!
