On 13 October, we gathered in Brussels with decision-makers and stakeholders in the public safety and civil protection field, for the ‘Public warning & social media’ event. We heard from experts about public warning systems in Europe and the use of social media in crises, and we discussed what lessons we have learned from the recent attacks in Europe.

What was the aim of this event?
The recent attacks in many European areas have put to the test our public warning systems and have exposed the power of social media in times of crises. This EENA event provided a platform for the sharing of experiences and best practices among decision-makers and relevant stakeholders.
