The European Commission has adopted this week a new delegated regulation on in-vehicle eCall systems.
This legislation falls under the same context as the delegated regulation that was recently announced regarding eCall equipment in PSAPs, since regulatory changes are needed to ensure that eCall will be working on packet-switched networks (4G/5G) with the expected shutdown of 2G and 3G networks.
The legislation amends Regulation (EU) 2015/758 with newer versions of relevant standards (CEN/TS 17184:2022 and CEN/TS 17240:2018).
