Latvia deploys Advanced Mobile Location

Latvia joins the list of the 28 other countries in the world that have implemented Advanced Mobile Location (AML) for emergencies

From today, Advanced Mobile Location is active in the smartphone operation systems developed by Android and Apple (IOS) throughout the country. The system identifies when an emergency call is placed and sends it the caller’s location to 112, the European Emergency Number.

Latvia has joined the list of countries that already deployed this life-saving technology. Find the full list and everything there is to know about Advanced Mobile Location here.

This great accomplishment is the result of a collaboration between the Information Centre of the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Latvia, Google, and Apple.

Soon we will publish an updated version of the AML Report Card, where you can find more information on how AML works in each country.
