RESILIACT

RESILIACT

RESILIACT (Cross-regional Action for Enhanced Impact Forecasting, Early Warning,
and Resilient Governance) is a Horizon Europe research and innovation project aiming at transforming the way authorities prepare for, respond to, and recover from disasters by shifting from hazard-centred warnings to impact-based disaster risk management.

RESILIACT will develop an innovative digital platform that integrates data from meteorological services, hazard monitoring systems, vulnerability assessments, exposure datasets, and emergency management information systems. By analysing how different hazards interact and assessing their potential consequences, the platform will generate impact forecasts that support anticipatory action and informed decision-making.

Rather than simply warning that a flood, storm, heatwave, or other hazard may occur, RESILIACT will help authorities understand the likely impacts on people, infrastructure, critical services, and communities. The platform will provide actionable insights and decision-support tools that enable emergency services, civil protection authorities, municipalities, and policymakers to take timely and targeted measures before impacts escalate.

With a focus on Northern Europe, RESILIACT will be demonstrated and validated in the Nordic capitals of Oslo, Reykjavík, Helsinki, Copenhagen, and Stockholm. It will then be replicated and assessed in additional sites, namely Brussels, Lisbon, Attica region (Greece), Bratislava, Canvey Island (UK), and Algiers. The project will enhance disaster preparedness, support anticipatory action, and strengthen societal resilience across Europe and beyond.

It brings together 27 partners from 11 different countries.

RESILIACT will start in June 2026 and end in 2029.
