Currently, many emergency services are reachable primarily by voice call, putting at risk many people with disabilities. However, according to EU legislation, by the end of 2020, all Member States must ensure accessibility to emergency services for citizens living with a disability.
In order to provide emergency services with the appropriate information on improving accessibility and complying with the legislation, EENA organised a webinar with the European Disability Forum on Ensuring Accessibility to Emergency Services. The materials are now available, where you can find out about the legislation, requirements, strategies and the challenges faced by citizens when it comes to accessing emergency services.
