Data, data, data… You hear it everywhere: data is power. And we are all about bringing power to emergency response…
That’s why in April 2017 EENA joined forces with Waze (the world’s largest community-based traffic and navigation app) to evaluate how Waze data can contribute to the work of emergency services.
Four European pilot sites in Austria, Italy and France tested different scenarios including emergency response organisations (EROs) receiving notifications after Waze users report an incident, as well as EROs using Waze to send data about real-time or planned incidents to affected citizens.
So what did we learn from this experience? Take a look at the results if you are:
- A public authority that wants to use Waze data to make better and faster decisions
- A CAD company that wants to enhance your service by incorporating Waze in your system
