HIS CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE 112 SERVICE WILL BENEFIT PEOPLE FOR YEARS TO COME…
EENA is working with over 1,300 emergency services staff from around the world. We are lucky to meet exceptional professionals who strive for the improvement of the 112 service. This is a small thank you to one of these professionals.
Today is Mr. Janek Laev’s last day as the Director General of the 112 Emergency Response Centre of Estonia; in the future he will be working in the Ministry of Interior of Estonia.
We want to thank Mr. Laev for his cooperation during the last years and congratulate him for his accomplishments. Under his leadership:
- Estonia consolidated all emergency numbers to the unique number of 112, making it easier for all citizens to ask for help.
- Estonia implemented the GIS 112 project, reducing response time and increasing the efficiency and flexibility of emergency services staff;
- Estonia deployed Advanced Mobile Location, the caller location technology drastically improving location information, saving lives, time and money.
“His numerous achievements will benefit Estonian citizens and visitors for years to come” said Gary Machado, EENA Executive Director. “Everyone at EENA wishes him every success within his new role.”
